I’m always a fan of liquid highlighters that give a nice luminous glow, especially ones that have just the right consistency to mix in foundations. Finding ones that are warm enough in colour with just the right amount of shimmer for my medium/dark skin isn’t easy. There are a number of liquid hightlighters on the market that are perfect for highlighting that are very shimmery or pale in colour. Finding the right one to mix product in with foundations or use as an all over primer is tricky for me because I prefer ones that are golden or darker in colour. I had been eyeing the By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum for quite some time and finally splurged over the summer on Sunny Flash No.4. I am pleased to say this serum has definitely made in my “must haves” make up bag.
The By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum is a colour correcting liquid. It has a nice smooth texture that blends in nicely with the skin. By Terry calls these “colour control radiance elixirs”. There are many reviews that explain that these called serums because of the ingredients that make up the serum that helps smooth and nourish skin while brightening dark spots. I haven’t used the serum long enough to confirm if the serum lightens the look of dark spots or actually helps lighten dark spots. Over the past couple of months that I’ve been using these, I haven’t noticed dark spots fade, although this does help to even out the skin tone throughout your entire face and creates a lovely glow.
Shade Sunny Flash Swatch
Blended into skin- shimmery glow
There are four different shades, I tested a sample packet of all four and preferred to buy shade Sunny Flash No.4 because it works best for my skin tone. You can use these individually or mix them together to get different effects. Due to the high price of these I didn’t splurge of the other three.
As you can see from the swatch I done with the Sunny Flash shade, you can see how soft and smooth these liquids are, they have a subtle luminous glow that is visible but not too shimmery. It also has a soft rose scent that is really soothing and not overpowering.
Sunny Flash is slightly lighter than my skin tone but I like this mixed with foundations to warm it up. I also like this layered on top of the cheeks or eyes to add a bit of depth and warmth. If you add powder or foundations on top, you won’t be able to see much of the glow but I really like how this looks and smooths out the skin and cheek area. It had enough colour to give a very slight contour.
Overall I am very pleased with the end result of this liquid serum and I recommend it to those who want a nice glow to their skin.
